I read this book years ago, so long ago I could remember very little of it. As it turns out, it was much better than I had vaguely recollected.

As someone who loves dogs, it was hard to read of poor Cujo, a Good Dog, who loved his family, turn rabid and attack those he once would have protected.

There was maybe a bit too much angst in this book, all main adult characters living the same fears of growing old and coming to terms with the lives they were leading. But the plot was involving and drew me in, and I felt strongly the horror of what happened to Cujo and those he attacked.

The ending was excellent, though sad.

I'm very glad I decided to reread this book.

One of King’s most captivating novels. Also, as much as he struggles with writing endings, this one wraps up perfectly.

Okay, I was not expecting to like this king book so much. One reason being such a horrifying setting for a mother with her young son. I thought the idea of Tad’s monster from the closet and then that being what he thinks Cujo is- those monster repellant  words from his dad and him finding them at the end was heartbreaking. I thought the use of small mishaps and just total sabotage caused by some characters was strong and moved the plot along nicely. I felt like the pacing throughout was great and the ending didn’t feel too easy. The use of point of views between Cujo and any person he felt was doing this to him was so powerful. I did not feel like the violence described was gratuitous as he has lost all sense and I mean yeah sickening descriptions but what I expected. Cujo is definitely in my top ten king reads so far. Format: audiobook .

(Read for the scary cat king read a long)

Well, this was a series of unfortunate events. It certainly takes the edge off having read it before, but now I'm wondering if this isn't a sneaky Bachman Book, because if Stephen King wrote it and doesn't remember writing it, then maybe Richard Bachman just got really lazy and forgot to change the name on the manuscript application...

Really good.
It takes a little bit to start but just the right amount. The book has a great plot and it’s very tense and fun to read. Even the subplots which I thought I would hate at the start became very enjoyable. I thought I would dislike the bleak atmosphere but it was actually very good. Definitely recommend.
