3.93 AVERAGE

This was close to a 4.5-star rating if only Josh's secret was a little bit more on topic with Heather because I could really use the angst and have my heart broken right now.

Aww, so süß.
Lauren Layne hat es wieder mal geschafft, mich zum Schmelzen zu bringen. :)

I don't know what magic Lauren Layne possesses to write alluring, engaging, fun-filled stories. She always succeeds at delivering a masterpiece and always leaves me amazed. I enjoyed To Have and To Hold so much that I thought the first book would be the best one of the series. Ha! Cue moment of laughter for my incredulous nature. This sequel threw the ball out of the park, if that's even possible. Usually sequels tend to be over-shadowed by the other books in the series, but this?! No no no, my friends. For Better or Worse has to be the best one yet! I don't know how the third book will top this one, but let's not get ahead of ourselves.

Heather is a very passionate and dedicated woman. She thrives to be a wedding planner and not be an assistant anymore. She's given the wedding of the year and she wants to give it her all so she can finally have that title she desires. I think we can all learn a lot from Heather. She went from having nothing to packing her bags and moving to New York to follow her dreams. Her only flaw—that's not really a flaw since we've all been through it—is wanting to prove to her mom, her boss, anyone, that she can be successful. I say it's a flaw because she felt like she needed to keep going up and up. She would never take breaks for herself to enjoy life. Her devotion to her job was so much that she didn't have a social life.

Josh used to have a job at Wall Street, but he resigned due to an illness. He started focusing on his music and "living life", but he's not really living it. He's also a little bit of a man-whore, but it's not fully shown in the story. When it it is, he tells the women that it's only sex and that's it. When Heather can't go to sleep because Josh is her neighbor and is playing music so late at night, she decides to give him a piece of her mind. The bickering and flirty banter is immediately thrown into the story and I was loving it! Once Josh got a taste of Heather, he couldn't get enough.

I was shipping Heather and Josh so hard! Their antics had me laughing, giggling and grinning all the time. Their chemistry is off-the-charts, yet they are also so very adorable and cute together. The talks they would have about banana bread (double meaning) had me in a laughing fit. Heather and Josh go so well together and complement each other a lot. As I mentioned before, Josh had an illness, and I was so scared for Heather to find out. I didn't want this to be a reason they would split. Heather, once again, shows the level of maturity she has and handles it incredibly. I was so happy she did because it showed just how much this couple is meant to be together.

Don't get me started on the ending! That was THE most beautiful thing ever! There's an airport scene that you guys need to read. You will adore it so much! I wanted more and more of it. I re-read that scene quite a few times because it was wonderful!

For Better or Worse is a rom-com that will charm you and give you all the feels!

“You know, having a sister, I know that most little girls plan their own weddings.” She shrugged. “The ones who already had happily married parents, maybe.”

Liked this one! Never felt bored - the ending was a little bit too rushed for my taste but ok. All in all, a really nice story.

Another great book in the Wedding Belles series! I love the author's writing style, and her characters are so likeable! A great weekend read!

For Better or Worse is Wedding Belle Assistant Wedding Planner Heather's story. Heather has wanted to be a wedding planner for as long as she can remember. So moving to New York and getting a job as assistant wedding planner with the Wedding Belles is almost her dream come true. She's just achieved the next step in her plan, getting a new apartment, now she's ready to move up from assistant to full-on wedding planner at work. That is, if her new neighbor's band can keep quiet enough to let her catch a few hours of sleep.

Josh Tanner is a confirmed bachelor who is happy being home, playing in his band, and keeping his relationship status in the one-night only category, or is he? These are all things Josh thought he wanted when his life had finally started to get back on track after being turned upside down, but after meeting Heather, he realizes that maybe he does want more. But will he allow himself to take the risks involved in falling in love?

I really liked the way Josh and Heater kind of dance around each other, their banter was great. But I really liked how even though they seem to oppose each other, they still don't deny their attraction to one another.

What I thought Lauren Layne did really well in this one was giving, unbeknownst to them, Heather and Josh both similar fears of falling in love and putting yourself out there the way you do when deciding to be in a serious relationship with someone. Heather's fears stem from seeing a lot of men come in and out of her mother's life when she was younger. None of these men stayed around and so Heather kind of forms this loved of the idea of marriage and love, therefore wedding planning is perfect for her, yet she doesn't want to open herself up for love.

Josh's fears, on the other hand, stem from a more recent issue. Lauren Layne kind of skirts around it throughout the book so I won't outright say what it is although it's not really difficult to figure out, it's not shared right away. But suffice it to say, Josh's fears also keep him from wanting to open himself up for love. Which is why what Heather and Josh develop is written so well. It's not in-your-face, it's subtle and sneaks up on them both. You just have to hope they get over their hang ups so they can get their HEA.

I will say that I think Heather's issues were more glossed over than Josh's. Understanding what his issues are I get it, but since this is inherently Heather's story, I felt there should have been more done on her side of things.

I loved getting to see the other Wedding Belles. I like that, through their job, the women's lives are all linked so we get to see what is going on in the other characters' lives. Obviously things are gearing up for Alexis and Logan's story which I'm super excited for.

I think if you haven't read any other books in this series yet, this one is really easy to pick up and read as a standalone. The references of the other characters won't confuse at all. I'd say, so far, this is my favorite series of Lauren Layne's that I've read.

Easily my favorite of this series, which has been pretty lackluster. Loved the banter between Heather and Josh and the development of their relationship. The realness of their connection helped me suspend my disbelief at some other aspects of the story that really wouldn't fly in the real world.

The end was a little perfect for me (#annoyingreader) but overall, really enjoyed this. I'm hopeful for the last book in the series after reading this one.

I absolutely adored this book! I wasn't expecting to love it this much because I gave the first book in the series 3 stars because it was an ok read to me, but this was great. There wasn't a boring page in the entire book. I completely fell in love with both Josh and Heather. They had great banter throughout the story. I love the fact that they developed a strong friendship first before things got physical with them. They gave each other really cute nicknames based off of their apartment (4A and 4C) which was refreshing because I didn't have to hear the words babe, kitten, honey, or anything on that note. I whole-heartedly believed they had chemistry and it didn't feel forced. Plus Lauren set up the story for Alexis and Logan really well, so now I'm really excited to read the next book in the series! Thank God I don't have to wait too long for it to come out! Keep up the great work Miss Layne!

Better than the previous books in the series.
