this book was definitely very interesting, and showcased so much important representation (especially for young teens struggling with sexuality and gender identity). i did find the main character and love interest very selfish in quite a lot of the book, however i did like both of their developments (separately and together) as the book went on, and mostly liked their characters by the end. i really liked the side characters in this book as well, and was extremely invested in the development of all of their relationships as well as the main one. although the book did feel very slow and repetitive at times, i did really enjoy it, and think that it is definitely a worthwhile read.

This book is Casey McQuiston all over! Perhaps RW&RB and OLS are better, yes, but I Kissed Shara Wheeler is a wonderful addition to anyone’s library, exploring identity and first love with tenderness and a handful of mystery. The main characters/love interests are pretty selfish and immature, but their redemption arcs are *chef’s kiss* Oh and Natalie Naudus can narrate my life pls

Such a necessary book for a ya audience (or anyone tbh). It was such a fun read!!
Kind of enemies to lovers, more like rivals to lovers.
