Reread:
12/03/10 I thought I would like this one least of all, since it was Gideon's book and it would be hard to read. But it wasn't too bad, you get used to the "Lies" speak after a while.

Spoiler
And I hated (loved) the part with their two angels (demons) being in hate (love). ;)
Gideon, keeper of lies, is determined to find out every thing he can of the woman who claims to be his wife. He doesn’t remember anything about her, but unlike other people cant tell if shes lying or not. One thing he does know is that whether they was together then or not he wants her now.
Scarlet, keeper of Nightmares, is dangerous having to let her demon feed every day and the only way to do that is to well.. give nightmares. That's not so bad, huh? Unless they kill you. She remembers marrying Gideon, and more. The only problem is that he “left her” and doesn’t remember anything about her, its enough to make any girl pissed.
I really loved this one with all the little sub-plots going on with the other Lords, and some gods. I can’t wait until the next, [b:The Darkest Secret|9394010|The Darkest Secret (Lords of the Underworld, #7)|Gena Showalter|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1288316327s/9394010.jpg|13277173].

5 stars!!! So far my FAVORITE LOTU book so far!
Scarlet. Half demon and daughter of Rhea. We found out in Aeron's book that she also possesses a demon, hers is Nightmares. Which means for 12 hrs a day she's asleep and cannot be woken be her demon is haunting people in their sleep.
Gideon's. Demon is Lies. Which means he cannot utter a single truth without so much pain that he passes out for who knows how long. Once you get used to his deciphering you begin to love him. Tatted up, pierced and a man whore. But once he lays his eyes on Scarlet (Scar he has to call her bc he has to lie) in their dungeon he knows he KNOWS her. Their matching tat. His tattoos are of her. But how?
The whole back story is heartbreaking and you hate to hear about it. THEN Gena throws us for a loop and we learn it's all fake due to Scarlet's aunt weaving fake memories! Ugh! The only part I hated. Now Scarlet isnt sure what's true about her thousands of years alive. But.. the two of them in the current time are adorable together. She can decipher him and they're playing leads to a lot of hilarious moments!
Now.. the sex scenes were incredible. They are a MATCH to say the least! Wow. Even their demons are in love! (And they can leave their bodies!!!) LOVED the beach scene when their demons were outside their bodies and he could finally say everything he always wanted. I was hoping Gena would find a way to do that. Gideon's just wants a woman who understands him despite his demon and he finds his perfect match in Scarlet even though she tries not to melt while he works to romance her. I loved their official wedding and where he sacrificed all that pain to tell her the truth, thay he loved her!
This was the first book in a awhile where I was annoyed about the side stories (now.. they were good) because they took away from Gidlet!

I went into this one a bit unsure. I wasn't a lover of Gideon beforehand and often found myself a little confused when the dialogue centred around his character. I had to get my head around almost reading the opposite of what he meant.
One of the things I did like about how Gena Showalter wrote this is that she pretty much put translation in next to everything he said, which helped me a great deal and made reading the book a bit more enjoyable.
Firstly, I had high hopes for Scarlet, first time we have had a demon sharing female as their partner and we met her in the previous book, her demon is Nightmares. Unfortunately she didn't really come through for me, I found her a little annoying at times. She didn't really get very interesting for me until about half way through when she realises what has happened to her and her "memories".
Gideon didn't fare much better for me am afraid. We didn't get any kind of back story to him or his demon and how it was after opening Pandora's box etc. Besides the love story angle there didn't seem to be much from their characters at all. I also didn't really "get" their attraction to each other.
Unfortunately this story raised more questions for me than answered them.
Aeron really came down in my eyes in this book too, I loved him in the previous book and he really came up in my expectations but he went down again in this after what he was responsible for doing to Amun in this book. I felt so bad for him as he really didn't want to go but it felt like Aeron sacrificed his friend to save the little madam Legion. Although I admit to feeling a bit sorry for her in this.
I really enjoyed the rest of the background story and getting back to the other Lords and the rest of the story to get with the Hunters and getting the artifacts. I would have liked more from Sienna though and am really looking forward to getting my hands on hers and Paris' story when it is released.
Upon reading the blurb from the next book though as surprised as who Amun's love interest is, I thought she would be Striker's but oh well, nice to be surprised. Even though this one disappointed me I will still continue reading the series and overall I love the series, the characters and the storyline

Now were finally getting somewhere with the ongoing plots of this series. I do remember liking this one a lot when I read it the first time. Now I have a feeling I'm going to be getting back into 2 star territory again.

Trigger Warnings: violence, blood, murder, magical coercion (memories changed), child abuse, graphic bodily injuries, rape on-page (not described), torture

Short and sweet, this book was my favorite of the series...to date!
Book 6!!!
So end of book 5 Aeron knows he has to save Legion and this is where this book picks up. Part of the Lords are heading to Hell some are working on the keys to finding the box.
Gideon is the holder of Lies, he can tell when someone is telling a lie no matter what, till he meets Scarlet. Scarlet herself is a holder of one of the demon lords, or maybe lady, holder of Nightmares.
Gideon can't place it be he knows her, or thinks he should. When she comes out and tells him they were married, he has no memories of this at all.
It's a fight to see what is truth and what is a lie for the couple.
Out of all the books so far, I was thinking this was going to be weak, but in the end it really was great. My top 3 fav ladies of the world have to be Gwen, Scarlet and Anya.

Good, but not the best in the series. I liked the main story line, but too much of the book is spent setting up future plotlines. Very emotional in parts, may require a hankie!
