Seems super good but I'm not great at reading poetry so it kinda didn't make sense most of the time. Steamy tho

“You can’t be lonely, after all, if you’re not inside yourself.”

This story was told through rhyming couplets and is the most uniquely written story I've ever read. The author explores topics such as sexuality, sensuality, desire and finding out who you are. It was beautifully written and I feel like it packed a punch in such a small story.

maybe im not a poetry girlie or maybe i didnt gaf about the story idk

It was fine, not really for me. I kind of came into this expecting more of a narrative about polyamory. I really enjoyed the poetic framing though and even if I wasn't enthralled with the story, I had a good time with the poetry.

I almost bought this and I am really glad I didn't, the main character is obnoxious and indecisive and the book is at times gross and often vague. Several uses of big words that seemed entirely unnecessary. Would have dnf'd but it was pretty short anyway.

Didn’t really like the structure or some lines, but I think the author had some interesting ideas here. She speaks to how our expectations for our lives can be easily derailed, and how we don’t always know what we really want out of life.

When she spoke of how some of what she learned from her first relationship helped her communicate in her second, I found that p thoughtful. The image of her exes being in a kind of conversation through her was something I hadn’t seen before.

I also found the main character’s reflection of how she approaches relationships and shame engaging. ,

I wasn’t a fan of the way the couplets were written, and I found it hard to be engaged when we were in prose format. Ironically, even though I preferred the prose structurally, the couplets were more focused and easier to read, but even then I didn’t like the way she was rhyming things. Kinda drove me nuts 😭

I’d say give it a shot, it’s a quick read and it might resonate with you.
