I felt the need to write my first ever review because I heard the about the "Brooklyn polyamory novel written in rhyming couplets" and, meaning to read the first few lines, somehow read the whole thing because I couldn't look away. Cannot understate how insane it feels that this person teaches at Yale and that this book is published by FSG. If you'd like to read a story about a woman who abandons her boring 9 year relationship with a man to entangle herself with an equally boring NYC culture industry kinkster told in torturous rhymes like "Cold, ecstatic—walking through the breezeway / to the perfume shop where I was a habitué," then don't miss this!

This was a charming lil book. Not usually one for poetry as mostly it goes over my head so it was nice to have the narrative device to tie everything together. It is really cool how much Maggie Milner conveys in so few words and the story was very well crafted considering that we only get snapshots of random points in the characters lives. Nice book for messy twenty somethings :)

What a poetry book! Intense roller coaster with author describing their queer identity and relationships through couplets. A tad self-absorbed but also important to put out there.
