Austen always delivers with a wonderful prose, sarcastic and ironic insights aimed at society criticism. Yes, sassy Austen always delivers.
However, this book is my least favorite of hers and there is not ONE redeemable characte  here.
Fanny being always so modest and quiet and enduring.  I wanted to tell her to get over it and find someone who appreciates her.
Edmund being a self-righteous douche, that eventually sees sense only because his whims were not satisfied.  And what is it with this incestuous relationship? No no.
The cousins, the uncle, the aunts. I think Mrs Norris is true villain in this story.
The whole thing is just terrible, ridiculous, preventable.
