HOLY MAN CARD, BATMAN

Braht isn't a sleaze. Well he kinda is...but not in an uncool kinda way. He's actually one of the sweetest. And this series is fucking hilarious.

Amazing book! I would highly recommend listening to the audiobook just for the reason of hearing Luke Daniels say “honey bear” ♥️

Braht and Ash.

You may remember Braht from book 1, he’s Tom’s best friend. The same title is given to Ash with Brynn, but Sadie is the third Bestie here too. Braht had been following Ash around like a starry eyed puppy for some time, but I feel he had so much more to him in this book. He tried his best to rise above his parents faults and raise his brother. That right there gave him many man card points. But also the way he treats Ash and helps her with her own family, just makes you swoon for him. Ash doesn’t make it easy for him, she doesn’t get the nickname Ash-kicker for nothing! Although, she had good reason to be standoffish with her past relationship. All in all, I think this couple were destined to be together, they make a solid team. I would even say I enjoyed this story more than the first. It wasn’t as wacky, but still had some good laughs.

OMG this was perfect, I laughed so hard! And so often! It was hilarious.

At first, I was slightly irritated—I haven't read Man Hands and sort of bumped into these two … erm … special characters, wearing a frown on my face for about one or two chapters. A frown that quickly dissolved into a bright smile. Ash and Brath bantered their way into my heart, and I especially loved Brath's take on manliness. It was SO refreshing to meet a character who is so secure in himself, he simply doesn't feel the need to give a shit about gender roles at all.

I loved Ash's sass and that she was focused, high-strung, and a little rough around the edges. (I could've gone without the bazillion mentions of her constantly hardening nipples, though.)

Man Card is a very funny, light and uplifting read, and I will SO give the other books of this series a try.

I love this series

Braht and Ash we perfect together!

Their banter was witty and downright hilarious!

I’ve never met a character quite like Braht but i couldn’t help but love the high maintenance man who knew exactly what and who he wanted, and never let anyone or anything get in the way!

Ash was his perfect counterpart, although she may have resisted at first... it only made things sweeter.

I really hope you give this series a read, I have a feeling book 3 might be in the works and it’s sure to be a doozy!

Until next time,
Xo

Romantic Comedy

A gob of laugh out loud moments plus shaking my head at the “dad” jokes in this well written romantic comedy. A favorite description of a word that can’t be mentioned here, but is described as dark, mysterious & very powerful! So good!
This book is a fast easy read and perfect to escape with during a free afternoon or for a couple nights of bedtime reading.

Braht and Ash. Standalone but part of a series with recurring characters. Told from dual POV. Rom-com. It has a HEA and an epilogue.

I will say, after reading Book 1 I was not sure I was going to like either character. Braht seemed way to feminine and Ash seemed overbearing and her “humor” was a bit over the top. Ok, I was wrong. These two really won me over.

Braht: he’s definitely not your typical alpha male. He likes to wear pastel and matches his alligator shirts to his socks. He manscapes and when feeling stressed likes to get a pedicure. He's a sensitive guy, cries at a puppy commercials and his top 5 favorite movies are chick flicks. Sounds like a bit of wimp, doesn’t he? But to quote Braht, “Any man who tells you that chick flicks are for pussies can’t be any good in bed. Because that man does not speak the language of women.” Well, isn’t he just full of all kinds of confidence and cockiness. Lol. He is definitely NOT in danger of losing his man card.

Ash: she is a hard core competitor, loves a challenge, has some major sass and is a bit cynical. She has some trust issues because of her ex and does not like to relinquish control. She comes from a loving home and her parents are good roles models of a healthy loving relationship.

These two are competitors in the real estate business and have some very entertaining moments as they try to one-up each other. Both are good pranksters (who knew office supplies were capable of sexual positions) and good sports. They have really fun, witty banter and great chemistry. Braht’s protective side comes out when Ash’s ex is released from prison and when Braht’s big secret is revealed late in the book, Ash’s attitude and desire not to give up was fantastic as it really showed growth in her character. I had lots of LOL moments and really enjoyed this story. Considering I went into this book a little skeptical about the main characters and was completely won over, it’s a great testament to how much I liked the book.

Quotes:
“The sound of footsteps spurs me to action, by which I mean I adjust my spur and let my polo shirt fall over the tent I’m pitching in my trousers.”

“She smiles widely, the way an electric eel might smile before snatching down its prey”

“It smells like a pumpkin spiced latte threw up around here. I am definitely not feeling at peace with the fall spirit.”

“I’m not like other men, Ash. I’m Man 2.0.”

“Why can’t Ash admit that we are perfect together? I mean, I saw stars. Literally. And I swear to god the way her toes curled she must’ve at least seen a comet. A moon.”

“He needs to be held accountable. And by “held accountable” I mean “he needs to meet my fist in a parking lot at high noon.” I am not above going a little Westworld on his ass.”

“It’s the guy who has a firm grip on his man card that can hold your purse.”

“We can’t both have a meltdown today, okay? Let’s arm wrestle for it. Winner gets to have the panic attack. Loser buys the tequila.”

“I would put you out of your misery right this second, except prison food is too carby and I don’t look good in orange.”

4.5 Permanent Man Card CROWNS

Man Card by Sarina Bowen and Tanya Eby is absurdly hilarious, sweetly sexy, and pure enjoyment. From the first page, Braht had me laughing and swooning.

Braht makes this story. He is adorably absurd. From the way he dresses, his beliefs in manscaping, and the ludicrous nicknames, these ladies had me falling in love with this man. Although he is probably the most feminine hero I have ever read, there were still enough moments of masculinity to make me adore him.

Ash is a man-killer in business and life, which is explained as her character is developed, but she is an absolute Ashkicker. Her interactions with Braht are hilarious, and readers will love her as much as him.

The story moves a quick pace. The sexual attraction is in the air from the first page, and readers will be entertained by their antics from the first chapter. Their relationship moves fast with little real development between them, but their connection is authentic enough that I didn’t mind the fast relationship progression. The conflict seemed way more ominous then it actually is, but Man Card is a rom-com so the level of angst should be low. Either way, these two ladies deliver a fun and flirty read.

Man Card is a definite must read for rom-com lovers. You will laugh and swoon, and there is even some heat to get you cooking.
