While I’m sure this book, with its plethora of glossaries, will be very useful during the writing stage, I was expecting more of an instructional book detailing how to create a fantasy world and key aspects to consider. Instead this book reads more like a brief anthropological look at various cultures of our world. Interesting, yes, but not was I was looking for.

This book contains Orson Scott Card's 'How to write Fantasy and Science Fiction' as well as an essay from Athens that make this worth this cost.
Definitely worth the price.

Just picked away at this here and there, easy to follow, helpful tools and ideas. I really appreciate the addition of information from across the world, not just Norse and greek mythology

I like to use this book to give me ideas or inspiration for any storys/campaigns that I am writing.
Some very insightful stuff, but too much inked is 'wasted' on the author showcasing his brainstorming skill throughout. Parts of the book are a bit outdated by now (where/how to get published, etc) since the book is from 1990.

I skipped a couple of chapters on topics that aren’t relevant to my projects, but everything I did read was exceptional, practical, and very helpful. There were a couple of typos throughout.
