A thought-provoking sci fi, really made me think about the future of education and what a world might look like where there’s no material scarcity and how artificial scarcity is still upheld. Incredible story-telling and really unique twists throughout. LOVE a strong female protagonist.

such a dense, long read, but so rewarding when you finally break through the slower parts. amazing character driven book that spans years of the characters lives. takes you on a ride of nanotech and family and geopolitical topics.

Me'l vaig comprar perquè valia 5 euros i m'atreia el títol. Gran equivocació. És llarg, pesat i avorrit. Tant que no l'he pogut acabar i només l'agafo els dies d'insomni per poder agafar el son millor. Espero que no sigui gaire representatiu del ciberpunk, perquè sinó aquest corrent literari no m'agrada. Hauré de llegir Neuromante per assabentar-me.
2024: La verdad és que me gustaría releerlo (técnicamente, acabarlo...) por que creo que ahora sí que podría gustarme.

Though I learned a lot of great new words as I started this book, such as callipygous caryatids, I started it twice over many months and finally put it down for good. I like the background of this story, but not the story.
I can't believe I waited until I had a daughter to read this book. A very fortuitous coincidence. Phenomenoal book with the typical early Stephenson abrupt end.
Distopic. Brutal. Well created world. This is a complex book, but not a read for the faint of heart. Love it.
