I always loved Formula1 since my brother is a huge fan. But it took me until this year to watch it full time with interest. And I'm loving every minute of it. I'm a Ferrari girlie (even tho they make me depressed) and I was in mood to read some F1 inspired books n decided to start with this one since it had been in my tbr for years. And I have to tell I loved it so much.

Noah & Maya were just everything. My gawd the sexual tension between them from the first scene was just 🤌🤌 and the slow burn was actually so good. I loved them so much.

I loved the side characters too. Especially my man Santi, like I'm literally on 🧎🏾‍♀️ for him. I loved him as a character n also his relationship with Maya. And the bromance with Noah in the end was 🤌🤌

Also loved the other side characters. And can't wait to read the other books in the series. 😌

This book was better than I expected.
A few cringy writing moments but ultimately I read it in a day so it's just mildly addicting... 😉

The male character was not the best to enjoy the book I really had to put on my rose-colored glasses and I almost DNF it does get a little better but overall, the beginning was touch and go, the middle was good, and the end was just boring. But it made for a decent palate cleanser. I would have liked to see more growth between Noah and Santiago.

i was not a fan of this if i am honest. it was an easy read in that it didn't take much brain power for me to read but i kept putting it down because i hated the writing. the premise was somewhat unique though and that got me to finish but i just don't think it was enough. 'bad writing' is fairly vague but (despite the attempt with noah) there was little to no depth or development for the characters nor their relationships. the dialogue was painful to read; a lot of it felt like in some fantasies where the author needs to infodump and just uses dialogue to do it, which comes off stilted and unnatural at best. i didn't like the pacing either, but that could just be me being nitpicky because i wanted it to be over faster rather than an objective flaw. also at no point during this book did i understand why noah and maya fell for each other - just physical attraction and vibes from what i could see - and it was beyond unsatisfying to read about them together. this feels like a book that i will completely forget within 3 hours but i've heard that the series gets better at some point, so i'll probably return to it later.

Lauren Asher is an author that I've been curious about, but honestly, I needed help figuring out where to start. I keep seeing The Fine Print appear everywhere and now Love Redesigned, so I've been curious about her books. But I finally picked up the audiobook for Throttled, and it was terrific. I loved the racing angle. I haven't really read any racing books. I liked the forbidden love angle in it, but I wish we had more of the playboy past causing issues because he had a vast past, and they would've called drama somewhere. I really want to continue this series!

If I read this a week earlier MAYBE I’d have rated it a 3.75—that’s how subjective reviews are. But I have been DNFing books all week before this one.

There were problems with parts. A few lines from the heroine that felt very “pick me” and eh near the start but not the worst I’ve seen. I don’t know anything about F1 so accuracy didn’t matter to me. There were some repetitive moments in regards to the pairs physical attraction that I didn’t love. And for the audiobook Maya and her family’s accent were pretty bad eps her parents lol. Just get a Spanish speaker to read or skip the accent all together honestly.

What did I like?
- The F1 sport element overall (I’ve read hockey, football, baseball, etc but this is my first official F1 and would love for more of these)
-  Noah, he’s a jerk but even from the start you understand it’s due emotional stunted growth (I just DNFd a book with a jerk lead that was just such an ick bc there’s a line you need to be cautious of) I love what he does for maya in Barcelona, I love that HE CHOOSES to go to therapy, I love that he does care but is just scared
- Maya could have been a better character esp when her love interest goes through so much growth, hers paled, she stands up to her brother for 5 seconds and I wish there was a bit more of it  however I loved that she was a Spanish lead and creative
- For as cheesy and lame and redundant the physical lust was there were lines that were pretty cute and romantic

I mean the characters are diverse in terms of the fact that they’re all from different countries but I’m pretty sure they’re all white…
