I love Agatha Christie and this book is one of the reasons why. I love the story and love the ending and just would completely recommend this book (and many more of her books) to anyone who loves mysteries. Or loves reading. Just read it.
I got into this book already knowing who the murderers were due watching the movie, but that isn’t to say that I haven’t enjoyed reading it. And that’s the thing, this novel’s plot is so good, that the solution may not be the best part of it.
Leave it to Agatha Christie to create such a complex story where all the semingly random details fit. It was really interesting as a reader to have to pay attention to every single one of them and to the characters stories while knowing who they were and what part they were going to play on the murder.
In a way this story is more “stalled” than other stories by the author. It all happens in an enclosed place, in only a few days, and all the queues provided are given by the interviews of the characters and not as a result of pure investigation, as to say.
The ending is sublime, because which other way it could have been done? As crazy as it all was, it made also a lot of sense and I couldn’t think of a thing to change.
I also liked how Poirot decided to let the murderers go in this one. Such personal moral decisions are not always seen in crime novels, especially because the motives of the criminals tend to be more evil than themselves if possible, as if good and bad were two extremes and grey tones didn’t exist.
All in all this is a novel that I would read again.

This was the second time reading this and originally I thought I had forgotten the plot but halfway through I was like waitttt I think I know how this ends. Still didn’t take away from the big reveal at the end!
Listened to the entire book in one day lol it’s one of those books that goes by fast. And even though sometimes I got the characters mixed up or had a few “wait who is that again?” I still really liked it.
Crazy how this was written so long ago (in the 1930s I believe) like you wouldn’t have guessed it at all!
Also I love how it was written with the whole like sit down and reveal everything at the end. Felt very much like “Monk”.
I’d recommend for sure. I do remember the first time reading it not expecting the ending/who done it!
