The Goddess Test

Aimée Carter

3.53 AVERAGE

I've read a few a "Modern Persphone and Hades" books, but this was my favorite out of all of them. As much as I don't like romance novels, I found myself rooting for Kate and Henry. And then I started wishing that James and Kate could be together, because I loved James and his tower of french fries. XD

And Henry was so sweet! Although, it was a bit hard to believe that he was a virgin after a bajillion years, but eh, I'm cool with that. That probably would've been awkward to read anyway.

What was really hard to believe was Ava, she was a total jerk and then she does a complete 180 and becomes one of Kate's friends. -_-

But yeah, loved the book, waiting for the next to come out. XD

I really liked this book. Kate character was mature for her age, but there was still a small child in her because she didn't know what to do when her mother was gone. She didn't just like Henry because he was attractive. She liked him for who he was and she wanted to save him. She was a good character and I am excited to read the next book.

It was an interesting concept but poorly executed overall. Sometimes a naive MC can be endearing, but here, the MC's constant failure to recognize the obvious was annoying AF and just detracted from the good parts of the story.

The Goddess Test was cotton candy: sweet, light, fluffy, and a little predictable, but I still loved it. It was a modern take on Mythology and super cute. I'm looking forward to reading the other books

This was really good! I like Kate and Henry.

I had some difficulty remembering some of the other characters and some I would have never guessed 'who' they were but I did suspect Ava was Aphrodite and now that I look back the twins also made sense.

I can't figure out Hera/Calliope though. I thought Hera was with Zeus??? I know she's famous for being a jealous wife but who she was jealous of confuses me. :/

I was also very surprised to find out that Calliope was the one who was killing everyone. I was glad that Kate's mom was willing to 'sacrifice' herself to make sure that Kate and Henry got there happy ending.

I was also happy that they explained what the 'tasks' were.

I'm REALLY looking forward to the next book. *squeals*

Great combination of mythology and modern days!

Oh goodness, I am on a roll with some bad YA atm.
If you are looking for some good ol' slut shaming, you've come to the right place. If you like it when females get blamed when the men do stupid things, this is the book for you. And lastly if you can't put the book down when your protagonist has a martyr complex, and she is so narcissistic that every possible thing is her fault, then give this book 5 stars (if you can't read the sarcasm there, trust me there are buckets of it).
If I could give this book less then 1 star I would
