I wish House Andrews would expand the Kinsmen universe even more, but then they are with Fated Blades and I just cannot wait.
The best thing about this stories are the incredibly interesting world they are set in. That's what makes the stories so great.
Not gonna lie but I kinda expected them to add something different, but they're still the same stories that have been published separately, except for the addition of a couple of illustrations and a short story called a Mere Formality.
They were still very good and would recommend this bundle for those who haven't read them before.

It's what you would expect from an Ilona Andrews short story collection. I can also see the similarities between this universe and the Hidden Legacy one which is interesting. Definitely not one of my favorites by them, but enjoyable nonetheless as an easy read.
A little too much spice for my preference so I only gave it a three star. The last little story did make me laugh though.

Overall, I really liked this collection. The first two stories, Silent Blade and Silver Shark, are fun and engaging; I found myself wishing they were longer! The characters and their powers are interesting, especially in Silver Shark - and I think any fans of the Hidden Legacy series will really enjoy them.
On the other hand, I found the third story, A Mere Formality, really confusing - like I was reading a collection of scenes snipped from a larger book, and missing half the explanations for what was going on. It made it hard to believe the ending.
However, I would still recommend this collection (the character illustrations are amazing!) and look forward to more stories in this universe.

Interesting stories and loved the writing style as usual. The 3rd story was definitely my favourite (probably because it was the longest) but I enjoyed them all.
I finally read my beautiful edition of all the stories in one go. Subterranean Press outdid themselves and I love it and my favorite SF/HQ stories.

I quite enjoy the short-stories format and Ilona Andrews duo can't do wrong for me. Silver shark would probably be the favorite for me, it felt the most nuanced, the worldbuilding was most extensive in that one and I really enjoyed both of our characters. A Mere Formality was an utter crack, complete ridiculousness of enjoyment. I really enjoyed that one I would be quite interested in how their relationship turns out to be. Silent Blade was a little bit overdramatic for me, but I still liked the culture-building and the characters might not be the absolute faves, but they are still Ilona Andraws' characters and therefore are amazing.
