Liked this more than book 2. I think that these read like episodes of “Criminal Minds” and it reminds me I need to catch up on that haha it’s been years

Devon and Kimball were great for each other, they challenged the way they go about things and they complimented each other perfectly.

Can’t wait for Fosters book in August!

I absolutely loved this book. I was so excited to see these two get a book together. This book is full of drama, mystery, male egos, and so much sexual tension. It's a well written book with a great storyline and absolutely wonderful characters. I have loved all of the books in this series so far and would recommend you read them all, even though they are standalone and can be read separate.

I enjoyed Elle's Crimes of the Heart series but I'm on the fence with this one.
My issue might linger on the fact that I haven't read the previous books in the series.
There were so many names and characters that I was supposed to know and I didn't, that at some point I was just tired and frustrated.
Instead of focusing on the MCs, I kept trying to figure out who is who and what the relationships among them are.
Apart from this pet peeve of mine, the story was nice, the MCs were interesting and fun and I mostly enjoyed it.

Thank you to @gayromancereviews for the copy.

RTC but I quite enjoyed this one. It was super sweet and the main characters had a very good banter that I really enjoyed. I really love books where we get to see older main characters finding love and I really liked how it was done in this one. I really enjoyed the investigation in this one and it was a lot of fun to read. Sadly, I struggled to get into the book at first, but once I was into the book, I was really into it.

I received an ARC of this book and this is my honest opinion.

I love bantering and a little friction that turns into a massive heat wave and Elle Keaton serves it up with style in Real Risk. It is hysterical to read the jokes going back and forth about age when I think of Flynn and Kimball. Plus the power struggle to solve a crime.

Then there is the mystery thrown in and Keaton really makes this work. Keaton makes the fire breathe through the story and makes me flip through my kindle to read faster. I loved it.

There isn’t anything I didn’t like about this book. I gobbled it up faster than a fire consumes. I cannot wait for the next one.

I received a free copy of this book and I am writing a review without prejudice and voluntarily.

I went to bed around 8:30 and figured I could get halfway through the book before it was time to go to sleep. Needless to say I ended up going to sleep at 1:30am having finished the book! The lack of sleep was worth it though.

This book hit all my buttons. When asked my favourite trope I normally say grumpy/sunshine but the truth is my true favourite is grumpy/not-as-grumpy, and this fits the bill perfectly - I adored these two making a sport out of pushing each other's buttons as they try to deny their connection and their grudging respect for each other's jobs and competence. Gah, such much fun. And this was a slow, slow burn with two sexy middle-aged men who have convinced themselves that their career is really all they need. Check, check, check.

The mystery element really made this a page-turner, but Devon and Kimball getting their happy ever was super satisfying, it felt real and earned.
