I really liked this one.
At first, I was a bit uncertain about the writing style, considering it was much more concise and gritty than the usual xianxia/wuxia danmei I'm used to, but it quickly picked up.
I would've never thought I'd like a story like this so much. There's not much of an overarching plot, the book is just a collection of loosely connected events and situations between the two male leads with occasional side characters. They're very charming too, especially the little Gu Miao, so I did not mind in the slightest.
I am also a big fan of how multi-layered the characters are. It's rare to find a series where the leads cannot be described with a word or two; they have unique hobbies, backstories and ways of coping with situations. I could see a lot of myself in the main character.
Super excited for the next volume to come out.
