I almost think I liked this better than the movie. Quite complex, and Agent 13 has a much bigger presence.

I came to this volume because of the upcoming Captain America film and my own juvenile curiosity but I came away from this volume a big Ed Brubaker fan. His work is crisp, his story telling gritty enough to keep things interesting and his characterization (most important for an iconic series like this one) is sophisticated enough to give depth where the precedents are mostly cartoonish. I highly recommend anything by this author. As for this work, at times it got a little hokey but overall I enjoyed it as much as any piece of blockbuster entertainment.

Read for class.

On my hands and knees begging the author to look up the definition of a linear narrative.

Yes, I'm among the crowd that read this story arc in anticipation for the movie. But I wish I had read it sooner. I don't typically read many Captain America comics, but this is certainly the best one, and I can honestly say I loved every page of it.
