Honestly quite good. The format of a diary does a lot to make time moving forward and the changes between entries increasingly unsettling as the story progresses and things continue to fall apart.

In the beginning I found this story so interesting, and then it wasn’t. Despite reading this book I don’t have a lot to say about it, which is how the story felt a whole lot of nothing.
I was hooked at the beginning by the paranormal theme behind the plot; however, I stopped reading it for a few weeks and once I returned to it, the mystery and drama felt too long-winded.
I got totally sucked into this book. I stayed up late two nights in a row and finished it quickly. I was fascinated by the house and its relationship to others as well as people making terrible decisions (as they tend to do in the horror genre). I can't really speak to quality, I'm not very familiar with horror novels, but it was an enjoyable and creepy read.
I remember being scared out of my wits and loving this movie. So, I thought I'd read the book. Much to my disappointment, although I was scared at times, I did not like this book. I kept thinking I would, so I kept reading. Sad to say this is one of those cases I liked the movie, which is completely different than the book, much better.
*This book contains adult situations and relationships. It is not for kids. Sex is mentioned.

Well it was given to me by a friend who thought it was non-fiction so kudos to the authors on that front, but I liked it well enough.
It was a fast read, I only read it because I liked the film and it does shed some light on some of the mysteries in the film, but is it well written? No. It feels thrown together, kind of like what I would imagine some fan fiction could resemble.
