I just cannot get into this. I am sure the characters are very lovable but the writing style is not for me.

Oh I really liked this! Though I have to admit I liked the first section best and didn't enjoy it quite as much once we got into the mystery and V and J were separated and pining for each other but hardly corresponding or interacting. V and J are wonderful characters; the mystery is interesting but sometimes felt to me like it was getting in the way of the story I actually wanted to be reading. I'm eager to read the sequel.

Extremely horny and delightfully French! In this mostly epistolary adventure, you get magic, mystery, some violence, swords, post-Revolution historical swag, art, smutty books, and TWO nonbinary/genderfuckery MC's. I'm going to recommend this to all my queer friends who love Les Miz.
