Willa is written in a way that makes her seem very childish for 26. Her family’s dynamic is a little too close whereas his is a pit of abandonment issues. He didn’t really work through his issues, they just all of a sudden got better after one confrontation, and I’m not sure I liked them for each other at the end of the day.

Dnf @ 5%, the fmc was cringe with how much she was crushing on the mmc for 9 years without really even knowing him. And waiting for her first kiss from etc was just too much of an obsession without feeling realistic.

Devney Perry will always be one of my favorites, and all of her audiobook narrators so far have been amazing (or at least the ones I listened to!)

Childhood crush • Small town • Grumpy x sunshine • Found family

My poor bb Willa! When Jackson Page walks into the gas station for the first time, Willa at the ripe old age of 15 falls and falls HARD. Flash forward to a decade later, and she is still harboring a crush for a man that calls her Willow instead of Willa. The way I kept being like "don't pine over him HE SUCKS!" for the first 1/4 of the book.

Lucky for all of us, he finally opens his eyes and sees what he's been missing. Well, sort of. Jackson's childhood trauma definitely plays a huge role in their relationship, but Willa, being the sweet angel bb she is, understands this man to his very core and has nothing but patience for him.

I loved seeing her find her voice and fight for herself, especially after how the book began. Jackson was better once he got his head out of his ass. Also them with Rider/Ryder (idk how it's spelled I listened to the audiobook) WAS ADORABLE.

Without spoiling, the suspense in this book was kind of whatever for me bc I didn't care as much about that storyline versus Thea and Logan's suspense storyline, but I still really enjoyed this and will be continuing the series.
