DNF @ 42%. Loved the first book of this series and was hoping to get another small town banger but atlas that was not the case. The plot overlap between this book and the first book just seemed to be a bit like an extra epilogue or bonus content when I was trying to be interested in the book that I’m currently reading.
The mmc is giving the guy you dated in college who was only interesting because he was hot and you wanted to be the one to fix him. And the fmc… we get it, you’re an awkward virgin. She was mad at the mmc and then all of a sudden was like ya know what, it’s fine please fuck me. Was just all around confusing

The mystery of He never noticed her until it was almost too late. The mystery of a cheap Womens Perfume, tequila and late-night drive. The mystery of true love or will it end when he feelsnot loveable at all. Trying not to give this book of some much mystery, intense chapters and tears that are good and bad. This book gives you so much feeling.

Willa and Jackson
I liked these characters in Tragic and this little town. Will a comes across timid and a pushover. She's watched Jackson from afar, him never noticing her. One night changes things, one drawing Jackson sees done by a friend moves him to step out of his comfort zone. Willa does not make it easy, Jackson deep down doesn't think she'll stay. Each will break down barriers and earn trust that neither let others have besides their family. There are unexpected twists that will test them. Great book two for the Park Cove series. Grab this, and Tragic. If you haven't read Deveny Perry before , well stop and grab her book, you will not be dissapointed!!

Idk this book was not my cup of tea so please don’t mind that my thoughts are probably overly critical. I love a good romance book if it catches my fancy, but I also love to complain if it is NOT my cup of tea, but kinda entertaining <3
I really hated Jackson but it sure was fun to complain about him/yell at him in my annotations the entire time (thank you kindle for making it easy to add notes to the text)
I don’t like how he is bad to Willa and it gets framed as him also being a good guy.Ex. She tells him no to a date a couple of times, then he keeps showing up at her house and workplace to pursue her and it’s somehow cute instead of stalker-y??? He gets angry at her for not telling him what he forgot when he was willingly blackout drunk and high?? Personally, it just really irked me.
I wish Willa had more character growth, she didn’t quite reach the level of standing up for herself that I would have loved to seeShe agrees to make Jackson work for it (a date) then folds after like a week and a handful of sticky notes. At the end, she’s still willing to fight for him but not herself
From a story standpoint- I think the pacing of this book was too fast. They got together relatively quickly into the book, then it felt like the story kept hopping to the next big thing instead of flowing through their relationship growth. The big piece of story conflict that occurred in the last third(ish) of the book was resolved largely off-screen, which felt pretty unsatisfying to read, I would have loved to know more of what happened with that drama

⭐⭐⭐⭐ .5 Loved, would recommend to everyone, only a small issue
Willa Doon, a shy and reserved woman, harbors a secret crush on Jackson Page, the town's bartender and renowned playboy. Despite her persistent presence, Jackson struggles to remember her name. However, one night, Jackson appears at her door, finally noticing the transformation of the girl he once knew into a beautiful woman. Unbeknownst to Jackson, they share a history—one forgotten due to a night of tequila. This revelation unveils a past encounter that left a timid girl heartbroken and set a broken man on a journey to heal them both.
The characters are authentically portrayed, with Willa's quiet strength and Jackson's struggle with forgotten memories adding depth to the narrative. The chemistry between Willa and Jackson is palpable, and the gradual revelation of their shared history keeps readers engaged. I loved seeing them grow, it was such a fun romance and Willa had the cutest relationship with her parents. Jackson's back story really broke me just like Thea'. This is the perfect book to tide us over until Hopeless.
Tropes: grumpy/sunshine, unrequited love, broken hero, age gap (6 years), virgin fmc
Triggers: parental abandonment, past trauma,
