Story idea: good+
Execution: I don't love it.

It's ultimately passable and wholeheartedly forgettable fiction. Doesn't do anything new or excite me much at all. Nothing unique, new, or exciting. Feels uninspiring. Another mediocre book for the pile.

I'm a big fan of pretty much all the female characters in this story.

It's not bad.

no particular message at the end so it's just Things Happening but i did appreciate how easy to follow along it was even with such a wide cast of characters. it's fun!! it's quite fun. brutal and gruesome but there are a few moments where it cracked a smile out of me. i have no regrets finishing this book but maybe if i were the type to care more to seek out plot holes or care for a broader meaning (i'm not. i also think things were plenty explained enough) then ehhhh maybe id give it a 4 but i was only here for the cowboys and witch hunt which was what i got

An episodic romp through the weird and terrifying west. The huntsman is a character I’m never going to forget, and would love for him to have his own stand alone story.
