This book did surprise me.  I read very few westerns but this was a book club pick. I also wasn't sure how this western and horror combination would work but I did enjoy reading this book. It does lean hard into the horror so if that bothers you, you may want to check the content warnings before attempting to read.

I enjoyed the pacing of the book, and the element of mystery attached to each character kept me hooked. I found it hard to follow all the names and side characters that would be introduced and dispatched though. Overall a great short read!

Great horror - fantasy western tale. I really enjoyed listening to this. (Great audio book BTW). I've read a few horror western books and this is clearly the best of them. This is simultaneously a great western novel and a very good fantasy novel with quite some horror elements.

This story started off pretty good. Then a whole bunch of random things happen, then there’s a lot of random characters, then it ends. I liked the start, and about halfway through I was so bored I could barely force myself to read the chapters.
