Since I don't really read other Marvel comics much it's kind of disappointing when a big event comes in and takes over the story. I was worried this would happen in Civil War II but luckily my concern was for nothing. This is another wonderful, gorgeous story full of everything I've enjoyed in this series.

The only problem I have with this book is that Minority Report and the Futurama episode about future crimes explored the topic with more thought and better comedy respectively. That being said, it was a fun book and I liked how self-aware some of the humor was. For what was basically a filler story (since it’s a tie-in to the overarching storyline of Civil War 2) it wasn’t bad, and didn’t required me needing to know anything about the main marvel event storyline to follow the book’s. All of the Ms. Marvel books have been great or home runs to me, so if this is the worst then this series is really something special.

I read this one all in one sitting and loved it so much! It's been my favorite Ms. Marvel volume so far, which is great since I am working on a chapter revision about teaching this comic and the Serenity comics. This volume broke my heart, as it's about friendship, duty, consequences, and finding oneself in the midst of chaos and confusion. The storyline touches on so many relevant stories today: the dangers of profiling, the beauty of migration, the importance of immigrant narratives, the power of true friendship, and picking up the pieces when things literally crash and burn. The world didn't end, but it seemed like it was going to. Gee, I wonder why post-apocalyptic stories are big right now ;). Kamala is becoming an even stronger character, and this volume tells more of the back story of her family and of her complex friendship with Bruno. If you don't have it, head to the bookstore ASAP and pick it up! I promise you'll be so glad you did.

A re-read. A little scattered, a little uneven. After watching the MCU show it was interesting to see the bits in India and Pakistan. This was an uncomfortable read. But stopping crime before it happens is an uncomfortable idea.
Not super surprising, but still good. This one is a downer. Both because it's not original, either with the Civil War plot or the Minority Report plot. And Kamala isn't being supported by her cast of friends. And she's not acting as smart as she actually is, which is kind of a Spider-Man thing. But it's still real. It still feels like Kamala is a real person in a real place.

Hello, unexpected philosophical discussion that popped up in this! Happily surprised, though saddened by the course this took. However, it’s refreshing to see that Kamala’s having to deal with very real consequences for her actions. Loved the final issue of her time in Karachi and the reminder of why she originally became a superhero. Continued my feelings of how this parallels with Peter Parker’s storyline.
