A wonderful close to the trilogy. A very emotional read, featuring many characters you wished to see again. A very character driven book. Hobb wonderfully ties up many threads and gives you a satisfying ending.

A beautiful conclusion to this arc of the storyline, though I think it left a little on the table. For a book of this hefty length, there was so much crammed into the ending that it felt needlessly rushed. Actually, everything from “mission accomplished” onward could have been put nicely into a separate volume and then maybe the ending could have been given more room to breathe. Ah well… looking forward to continuing on with the series after a bit of a break for some well-deserved palate cleansing.

A somewhat bittersweet but overall magnificent ending to The Tawny Man trilogy; it was a rollercoaster from beginning to end. I can’t wait to read the next instalment in The Realm of the Elderlings series.
