Did not finish at 50% ... pretty much done with this series.
ETA: oh my sweet summer 2016 self. You gotta finish. You just gotta.

Once again disgruntled at the very abrupt ending, but will definitely read the next one when it comes out.
I liked it better than the other recent fever books. But in hindsight not a whole lot happened. Still giving it a 4.
I love this series but had trouble pushing through this one. Hoping it was just the set up for a great conclusion
I really hate the 63 pages of People, Places, & Things at the end of the book that trick you into thinking you've got more of the story to go than you do. KMM should put this at the beginning like JR Ward does.
If possible I loved it more on my re-read!
----
Definitely the reading equivalent of junk food, but it was exactly what I was in the mood for at the time.
I'm still a bit sick of Mac and Barrons but I still love Jada/Dani and Lor.
I'm looking forward to the next one.

1 star for character development, 1 star for the relentless pace. The rest, utter rubbish
* Big spoilers *
A book very hard to review (for the beginning mostly)
While everyone thought the worst was over with the fall of the walls, a new countdown threatens to completely destroy all the worlds. Threats still haunt the streets of Dublin, from the mysterious black holes humming to the all-powerful last unseelie prince in his cage, Mac, Jada and the others have not finished yet fighting to save those they love and their world ...
I love KMM and yet, I have spent a lot of time reading this book for several reasons.
First, the first third of the book was BORING. I wanted to give up, I had difficulty to read more than one chapter, I found excuses to not read ... In short, I didn't understand what was all that blabla !!
Second, if I adore Mac in the first cycle, here I find her extremely annoying !! I don't know if it's because for me, her story is finished but I wanted to kill her from the beginning to the end ><
Luckily the rest of the book was better : I read it in one afternoon and I ADORE it !!!
In short, the positive points :
- the style of the author is still as enchanting as ever, we ARE in Dublin, we shiver, weep, laugh and love with the characters x)
- the different plots and subplots that intersect and intertwine >< I love the way the author puts in place things that seem unconnected until the very last moment
- Jada who is one of the most complex characters I have ever read : impressive as Dani full of life and joy, with a childhood that few people could have survived, impressive also as Jada, beautiful, strong and multi-faceted, which has survived so much !! I can't wait to learn more about her past in the Mirror !!
- Jada and Ryodan !! My two favorite characters, so complex, so mysterious and then all this tension and its unsaid things ... PFIOULALA <3
- My favorite villain Cruce !! I loved seeing him stringing us along throughout the series and I confess that I didn't expect him to come back so early and so powerful (even from his prison !!! I can't believe he was the one behind the papers !!) I can't wait to see him facing Mac or Jada =D
The negative points :
- Mac, I'm sick of her, if we could have more points of view from the others and less from her in the future it would make me happy. I didn't remember that she was so whiny and so stupid !! I mean, I get the impression that she keeps doing stupid stuffs !!! She had a personal Hunter and she treats him like a taxi, she hides some strategic stuff from Barrons (the thing with the music box KILLED me !!), she ignores all the vital stuff that she learns and I don't even speak of the story with her sister (it's true that ignoring a problem has always been THE solution !!)
- the story with her sister precisely, I find it a little useless actually ... Well then, I wait to see if KMM has big plans for her ...
- I had the impression that the heroes were faced with ten million super villains and that their great strategy was "we ignore them, they will perhaps end up disappearing" The worst I think it's Cruce !! How they were able to forget that the biggest threat was right under their nose, it's beyond me !! (No sorry, the worst is Ryodan and Barrons asking Mac to voluntarily get in touch with the Sinsar Dubh ... HELLO BAD IDEA !!)
- I had the impression that we hadn't progressed the other subplots of the story. I would have liked to see Kat again, learn more about Jo's problem, see more of Drustan and the others Keltar, see more of the Queen etc
The questions / hypotheses:
- So does Shazam exist or not ??? If it's the case, WOW, he could be a great ally, otherwise it's super sad >< (The scene when Ryodan tells everyone what happened with the cuddly toy... I cried ><) I hope they'll find him !!
- And the music box ??? Would it be the solution to everything ?? And the other objects that Mac has recovered ??
- The tribunal ??? The Nine ??? Does that mean they are more than nine ?? That there are others ??? Are they organized ?? Do they really come back into the desert ??
- Will Kat come back with super powers ?? Is there anything between her and Kasteo ??
- What will the Queen do ?? Is she going to pretend being in love with the King to manipulate him ?? Will it work ??
- The Collector killed me (repair the King ?? Seriously ??) I want to know everything about him !! Did he repair other people we know ?? Could he have been the creator of the Nine ??
In short, a book that is still AWESOME and I'm looking forward to read more ><
