This series is being dragged out too much. Book 5 was the best in my opinion. Books 7 and 8 were ok. They have so much pointless filler and too much repetition of previous backlog. I don't need to read in every book the same description about the same people. I will read the last book but I hope it is better than the last two books
I love this series and KMM didn't disappoint with this book. Mac is over thinking just about everything, Jada/Dani has shut off her emotions and Cruce is wreaking havoc even though he's locked up. I've learned to expect the unexpected when reading these books, hanging on for a wild ride. And this was definitely wild.
THAT is more like what I expect from this series!
Holy cliffhanger batman
Another great addition to this awesome series. I loved it. After this cliffhanger I hope we don't have to wait a year for the next one!

Unfortunately, this continues to not be what I wanted and hoped for from the second part of this series. I loved the initial books with Mac narrating and will gladly say they're one of my all-time favorites. Iced wasn't perfect but it set exactly the path and POV for this set of books that should have been. Mac and Barrons are seen and discussed but are no longer the focus. Dani stole the show and even though it took some getting used to it was her turn to shine. When Burned turned back to Mac's POV and I read some of the plot reversals and manipulations that warped the story I was incredibly disappointed. Now in Feverborn we get POVs all over the place but we're still stuck with Mac. She's got a bit more fight than in Burned but I still resent her place at the forefront of the story. Also, the plot here barely moves forward. Almost nothing actually happens. There's so much internal Mac dialogue but little concrete change in circumstances until the end of the book. The saving grace is Dani. We FINALLY get to see some of her story and it's well worth the wait. My heart broke for her and then I grinned at her inherent Dani-ness. The final chapters of the book are fantastic and finally hit the mark for this part of the series. But, be warned it's a mega cliffhanger until Feversong! All in all, Burned and Feverborn just aren't what I wish this series had become but at least there's a spark here for going forward.
Oh Barrons how I love you and have missed you! And after saying that..... WTF! I can't deal with this torture waiting for another year! UGH ... ..please please for the love of God release the next one before next year!
3.5 stars, rounded to 4
This is probably my least favorite in the Fever series so far, but I still thoroughly enjoyed it. The previous books in the series set the bar pretty high. I'm excited to continue the series!

Didn't finish this because the parts with Mac and Barrons were really repetitive of their story-arcs in the past 7(?) books.
A lot of people on Goodreads seem to be very down on K.M.M right now so I decided to add my own voice to support the lady and her work. This review has also been posted on the blog A.Biv.Abroad.
I am a self -admitted 'Moning Maniac'. I have been following this series since it was first released and I wait with baited breath every time they announce a new release date for the next installation. Moning has not disappointed in her latest continuation. The story has come back around to Mac's POV, the 'original' protagonist but also touches on another couple of familiar perspectives that help it from becoming a little tedious in places (as Mac can sometimes be a bit of a downer with an ongoing internal monoloque- which, ironically, is commented on in the story!) and definitely answers some questions left over from the previous books. My only pain with Moning is that she is the Queen of Twists and I rarely see the cliffhanger coming- there always is one to keep us coming back, of course, but I can never quite tell what it is going to be.
I'm looking forward to seeing Dani's/Jada's development through the next few books, finding out what happened to her Silverside, more about Shazam and of course, her relationship with the enigmatic Ryo. Then there is the all consuming evil that has its clutches into Mac, the men that don't die, the holes tearing apart space, time and reality and the diabolical Fae Prince scheming his way out of his prison.
Once again, Moning has me chomping at the bit for more and I can't wait for her next instalment to hit the shelves (in about twelve to eighteen months- cue the tears #bookloverproblems).
