I actually really liked this, much more than [book:Burned|12444297]. It does drag a bit and I still feel like the plot is taking forever to get wherever it's going, but the ending was super fast-paced and boy am I relieved that I have [book:Feversong|12446825] already checked out from the library.

It’s honestly been years since I’ve picked up a book from this series. I quickly remembered how much I love all of the characters! I’m grateful KMM wrote the glossaries in the back as a refresher of the people, places, and events of precious books. I read those before starting the novel and I’m so glad I did. There was so much about this world that I didn’t even remember. But I’m back in the swing of things and looking forward to the next one!

I don't even know where to start. This is probably my favorite of the series so far, waiting on the next from the library. There is a lot of character development and changing POVs helped the characters become even more complex and yet more understandable. I did not like the ending, but that probably wouldn't have been a big deal if I had the last installment instantly available. For something I didn't like 6 books ago, I must say I'm a fan.

re read in preparation for new book!

I was a bit disappointed in this. I noticed that Mac is a very wordy person; she says so many unnecessary things that I can skim paragraphs and paragraphs of her narrating by just looking at some key sentences. I don't know if she's been this way all along and I noticed only now, or Mac in Feverborn is really a bit different. Or perhaps it was only my perception since I was so eager to read the parts about Jada.

To be honest, I barely paid attention to what was happening unless it was Jada's turn. I think I might like Ryodan more than Barrons (:O) based on what I'm seeing at this point. I cannot wait to see what Ryodan and Jada's relationship will look like once it starts to become realized. But going back to Jada, I love how her character has gone even more complex--I just loved that touch of crazy revealed by the end. ;)

But goddamn does Karen Marie Moning know how to tease us readers. The last page totally sucker punched me; I didn't think it would end so soon, despite my apparent disappointment with much of the book.

So last word: I hate that I will have to wait again for the next book. I really, really want to read it now. :(

3.5 stars. The last book was so good. This one felt like a build up to a cliffhanger. I enjoyed it, but I could put it down. I still like Mac. Not sure why everyone seems to be over her. Jada was annoying for most of the book still though.

My feeling toward this series right now:

description
Please, kill it. Kill it with pain.

I really can't deal with Mac and her drama anymore. I don't want to read about plots already resolved and problems already discussed. I just can't. And Jada losing her personality and basically being mix of Mac in her fairy killer mode and Barrons in his distant and aloof? Such a lazy character modification development I couldn't connect with her at all. It'd be better she wrote entire book about her years in Fae to see what made her the way she is and which would actually force KMM to leave Mac out of it, ffs. :\

I'm in LOVE with this series..Karen Moning is now one of my favourite authors..CAN'T WAIT for the next book..These books are just so enchanting and addictive..
My ONLY complaint is the killer cliffhangers at the end of each book..Those are fecking killing me dude *Dani reference* (sorry..couldn't help myself).

DNF.
Couldn't do it.
