I I think this may have been better as a full novel rather than a novella. I wanted more of Will, more of Talia’s signature banter, and more of their story too. It felt a little abrupt all around, but it’s still cute.

I was really hoping for a quick, fun, light holiday romance and I certainly got...something quick. This wasn't badly written, the characters were rather likeable and the romance was by all means as cute as it could be under the premise of the story, but it was a bit too heavy considering what I was looking for. I also got to say that I find it fascinating that it was somehow such a quick story and at the same time it felt like the two MC's took forever to get together. I would still recommend this story, even though for me it just didn't hit the spot in any remarkable ways.

I am ravenously making my way thru Talia Hibbert’s works and this one incredible. They all have been so far.

It’s significantly shorter than the others I’ve read, so making the MCs long time family friends helped a lot with the pacing bc they didn’t have to get to know each other. They just had to grapple with the facts that they both secretly wanted more for a very long time and collected a lot of baggage along the way.

I do wish we had more time with them as a couple and well with them in general. But it was so genuine and full of feeling, I’ll take what I’m given.

Hibbert really has a knack for working with difficult subject matter and making them seem surmountable and the stories are all the better for it.

Honestly it was just okay. I love her other books a lot more then this novella. I didn’t feel super attached to the characters like her usual book but I think that’s because this was a bit shorter of a book. Still a cute, cozy Christmas read
