unfortunately book 2 still reigns supreme, this one coming in 3rd, and book 1 still dead last.
i really enjoyed the majority of this book, but after the scene where jules comes clean to josh, i just wanted the book to end. our mmc lies and says he forgives our fmc just so he can (very angrily and forcefully) have sex with her and then say “when i said i forgave you, i lied”, “the only good thing about you is how well you take me”, among other terrible things you would never EVER say to a woman you “love”. and to make matters soooo much worse, she forgives him, almost immediately. such a weird writing choice. why?

was i happy that jules forgave him about the said “out of pocket shit” ?? no BUT a little bit.. yes
stay with me here… as ava said (i actually forgot who said it.. i think it was stella who tf remembers) josh and jules are so insufferably toxic that they just work AND ITS TRUE. in my opinion they BOTH did fucked up shit and used each others fears and insecurities against each other.
josh using jules and then tossing her aside after she said that was her fear in life after her mom and literally everyone in her life did that to her? check
jules stealing and lying to josh after he said that was his fear in life— being lied to and having his only best friend and own father lie to him pretty much for their entirety of the relationships? check
they both did shit that in my case.. i would’ve probably pulled some kidnapping-and-taken-to-an-alex-like-warehouse kind of shit but i think they honestly work together.. josh definitely took the dickhead card and is NOT my fav twisted man to say the least but.. like the book does say it’s twisted and it’s literally hate.
(and if i’m being so honest… josh and alex’s relationship really helped with this rating LOL)
