When will I learn that TikTok books are not good? This is a very childish book with unconvincing writing and unrealistic characters.

Twisted Hate by Ana Huang is a scorching enemies-to-lovers romance that keeps the Twisted series’ fire burning, though it’s not without flaws. The chemistry between Jules Ambrose and Josh Chen is pure dynamite, with their banter and sizzling tension stealing the show. Josh’s witty, funny personality is a highlight, bringing levity and charm that make him endlessly likable. Their romance is absolute fire: passionate, intense, and packed with spicy scenes that live up to the series’ reputation. The interconnected world of Ana Huang’s universe continues to shine, tying characters across the series seamlessly.

However, the infamous “I lied” moment felt like a cheap gut-punch, leaving me frustrated with its unnecessary drama. Jules, an aspiring lawyer, also disappointed me with her irrational behavior toward her ex. It felt out of character for someone so sharp and driven, undermining her otherwise fierce and compelling arc. Despite these missteps, the emotional depth and electric romance kept me hooked. Twisted Hate isn’t perfect, but Josh and Jules’ fiery dynamic makes it a thrilling addition to the series.

******SPOILERS******
Alright, y’all got my ass. As much as it pains me to admit it after hating on the first two books, I lowkey enjoyed this one. Maybe it’s the fact that Josh has a personality and the first male in this series to not have a stick up his ass. Maybe it’s because Jules isn’t an innocent, fragile little thing, and she actually enjoys sex, or her backstory, which is the best backstory any of these characters have gotten btw. Maybe it was the whole friends with benefits but you can’t fall in love with me thing. I don’t know but whatever it was, it made this book twice as enjoyable as the first 2, which isn’t saying much.

The first thing I have to say is that I think a large majority of you guys are racist. All I’ve heard about when it comes to the men in this series is how Josh is a piece of shit and the biggest red flag out of all of the boyfriends, and he didn’t deserve forgiveness from Jules. I spent the entire book wondering what he did to make all of you guys hate him only for it to be the tamest thing ever. Josh said “remember when I said that I forgave you? I lied” and you bitches acted like he was a Hilter level threat. He said this AFTER Jules broke into his house and betrayed his trust, something that is important to him because his father tried to kill his sister and framed their mom, and his best friend of 8 years turned out to be using him the entire time. Did you people forget that Alex used Josh for 8 years, used Eva, literally planned to destroy their fathers company and kill him, and then stalked Eva for an entire year when she said that she wanted nothing to do with him? You guys let this slide because Alex is a white man but when Josh is rightfully hurt he's the bad guy? Yeah ok.

Jules and Josh actually having personalities made this book a somewhat enjoyable read but that does NOT mean that I think it was well written or that this author should continue publishing. One of my biggest issues with this book is that Jules DID NOT deliver when it came to being the hot maneater that she supposedly is. I thought I was getting enemies to lovers, hence the title, but all I got was a slight inconvenience to lovers. The book spends almost no time getting into the sex scenes which I absolutely hated because I wanted to see some hating first but whatever. I wanted Jules to make Josh work for it but she was horny at the sight of him almost instantly, like almost immediately after their first semi decent interaction. Josh on the other hand needs some serious therapy. Book 1 Josh compared to this book is a completely different person and I get it but seriously dude, you would benefit so much from seeing a therapist regularly.

Most of this book was smut, and unlike Eva and Alex, or Rhys and Bridget, it DELIVERED. Their hate sex scenes were STEAMY, and when he TIED HER TO THE BED? 10/10. This was the type of stuff I was expecting from Alex when he said he liked to get a little crazy so no notes for Josh. Something that really bothered me however was when Jules said “This didn’t feel like it had the other times, it felt like making love.” Bitch what do you mean!?? You were tied up to a fucking bed what do you mean it felt like making love, thats actually quit the opposite but you do you girl.

I can overlook some of the terrible, terrible writing but what I can do is get past the whole “It seems only fitting for us to end things with a goodbye fuck. At least you got an orgasm out of it, so don't say I never gave you anything. I'll miss that tight pussy of yours though. No one takes my cock better than you do. It's your best quality,” thing. What is his issue omg. Using one of her biggest insecurities was crazy work. As much as I liked Josh in the other books, I couldn’t bring myself to love him in his own book. He's still above Alex and Rhys though, don’t get it twisted.

My favorite part of the book however was the fact that Eva was NOT fucking in it until the end and during the ski trip. I cannot describe how much I hate that stupid ass, annoying ass bitch. I also liked how although Alex was present, we didn’t have to hear his corny ass internal monologue, god bless. I still would not recommend this book to a friend but I have to give it a rigger rating than the first two so, 2/5.
