There were some good points in here, but overall it felt more like a collection of articles than an actual book. There was no overarching flow or narrative, it was just a collection of thoughts and points. The interviews were the weakest part and just felt like filling space.

An informative book that talks about how the past, present and future of feminism is!

Brilliant. I started listening to the podcast and then picked up the book. It’s intelligent and funny, and does a good amount of deconstruction of everyday life. Very often feminist books can say the same thing through the generations but this was fresh, up to date and I felt like I learned a lot, especially about intersectional politics and some areas I’m less familiar with like trans and LBGT expression. Very useful book. I shall be recommending it and giving it to people.

Super slow. Great concepts in theory but the execution was poor on the whole. Often would input her own experience as a JW at times where It wasn’t relevant so broke up the flow of what else she was saying. Perhaps an okay introduction to feminism but not the first book I’d recommend as an introduction

I'm enormously biased because I love the GF podcast and Deborah (and everything she does), but this was real flipping great. Deborah writes about a lot of important aspects of and histories around feminism, in a way that feels like you're chatting to a mate. It's informative and funny - just like the podcast.
The inclusion of so many other activists and performers gives a diverse conversation too, and allows discussions about marginalised groups/individuals and their experiences to be heard directly, rather than just talked about from a single view point.
10/10 would read again, with another 50 mil cups of coffee.
Once more unto the breach, huns.
