I freely admit that I found myself here because of Kolker's article in the NYT "Who is the Bad Art Friend?" (Seriously, read it: https://www.nytimes.com/2021/10/05/magazine/dorland-v-larson.html)

Hidden Valley Road was fascinating (and at times messy) storytelling, a devastating look at mental illness.
