This book was a great low-angst cute read! The banter was everything!
Ren keeps bees in his spare time and has a job he doesn't particularly enjoy. Recently going through a bad break-up he swears off relationships.
Cole is a bear and a construction worker in his forties who has never had a relationship in his life.
These two hook-up once and decide that it's enough until Cole shows up to renovate Ren's bathroom.
The scene where Ren forgets about his dildo suctioned to the bathroom wall had me in tears.
They decide to continue hooking up with no strings attached.
Parallel to this and unbeknownst to them, they are also chatting to each other online as Rebound and CaulkyAF.
While in person everything is physical, they created an emotional attachment online.
It was adorable to see the two commitment phobes fall for each other! I absolutely adored Cole! The support he had for Ren and helping him start his beekeeping business was the cutest thing ever!

I wished for more depth from the characters but the relationship between Cole and Rebecca was cute.

Also the Four Bear Construction owners and their banter was great.

Unsure if I’ll continue with the series, this was low angst and not much depth from the characters or relationship…. Also the narration was good! Worth the listen!

CAULKY was a really enjoyable and low angst read -- and bonus for characters in their 30s and 40s! I liked Ren and Cole a lot and I loved their online conversations and the hidden identity plot line. Ren is the one used to relationships while Cole is more of a hookup guy but neither can deny their chemistry and one night leads to another and then another until they each have to admit that it's more than just sex between them. Their relationship is sexy and passionate but also really sweet and caring. I also really enjoyed our side characters, Ren's friend Daniel and the rest of the Four Bears construction guys and I'm excited for each of their stories.

Ren & Cole. Sooo cute. A little bit of anon texting and Ren is trying to get over his shitty ex.

Loved it! Looking forward to the whole series. Sex was super hot and the story was sweet. It was a fun, low angst novel. I loved the fact that they were having two seperate relationships without even knowing. The narrators were great too

This book is quite alright. It's very fluffy and definitely has its sweet moments, but there is just something missing for me.

Even though I enjoyed this novel, I wasn't fully invested. I didn't feel an emotional connection to the characters or the story. That's not to say the concept isn't cute or the character's aren't nice, because they are. I would even say Ren and Cole have some definite chemistry between them.
Yet, everything all remains rather surface level. There is no tension, drama or anything thrilling. Of course it's cute that everything is so smooth sailing, but then again, it can also be rather boring.

Frustratingly, Ren and Cole claim to have this very deep bond, specifically through this anonymous dating app they're on, but I never really saw that. To me, all they really had was banter and sexual chemistry.
Later on, I did start to see more of that deep bond coming from Cole as he was very supportive of Ren, and pushed him in all the right ways, which ultimately made him my favourite of the two.

Anyway, long story short, there's not much special about this novel, but there is also not much wrong with it.
I think this is one of those books where your enjoyment depends a lot on the mood you're in. I mean, if you're looking for something angsty and filled with emotions, then this is definitely not the right read for you at the moment.
