This book was fun. After his boyfriend of five years suddenly breaks up with him, Ren is determined to get over him. He gets drunk at a bar with his best friend and hits on a guy at the bar who tells him when he’s sober to come back. Ren finds him again when he’s sober and one hot night later, Ren’s glad he had a hookup and sets up an appointment to have his bathroom remodelled. The contractor is his hit hookup. They absolutely can’t see each other again so they both turn to a dating app and accidentally end up chatting to each other.
Reasons I Recommend:
1) Love seeing the connection between Rebound and Caulky and how they are so oblivious in real life
2) Ren’s determination to not be a relationship guy again and his mum is hilarious and
3) Cole falling fast and not knowing what to do about it.

Solid enjoyable read - KM is somewhat history miss for me (really enjoyed one of the other Four Bears books I've read while a book from the Palm Island series was not it) but I liked this one!
There's two separate but eventually connecting plots here: after getting dumped by his boyfriend, Ren is looking for a fling which he find in Cole, a hottie contractor and the two have a series of noncommittal hookups. At the same time, both Ren and Cole are unknowingly anonymous friends online through a dating/chat service.
I really appreciated that the reveal of their online identities wasn't super drawn out and there was no drama due to that.

The punny name of the book is about the most fun thing about this read.
Honestly a difficukt read and by the end I found myself skipping entire pages of very meh sex scenes which made me realize there was very little of substance.
I did not invest in these characters at all and when I learned that Ren was 35 (Bear Cole is early 40s) I was enraged as his emotional intelligence was of a much younger gay for all the LTR he has been through. Cole gets a slight past for being the “I’ve never wanted a relationship” type but still makes a very abrupt turn into the almost too perfect boyfriend.
Lots of fluff. No substance. Will not be continuing with the Bears Construction group even though I love a multi-book MM universe.
