"riding the sheets on a handsome man."

"it is simply difficult to know that i offer nothing at all to the woman i'm falling in love with."
"you offer me nothing? stupid man. you already give me what few men could. it is rare the man who has the confidence to let me be what i am."

Brook always offers a good steampunk.

I got good action, interesting romance and amazing world building to boot.
Steampunk cravings fixed.

I liked it but this felt disjointed from The Iron Duke not that a series can't be about the world the author created but this felt like it almost wasn't part of the same world...close but still not the same...

OK, this was much better than book 1 in having no non-consensual sex, and it was a good story. Seems I don't have to abandon the author yet.

Another steampunky romance bites the dust. I really didn't think I would like this one because it has two supporting characters from this series that I wasn't really intersted in. However, I was wrong. It was really enjoyable. It did a great job of discussing personal and professional boundaries in a relationship, and the importance of respecting and maintaining those boundaries.

3.5. This is total fluff - perfect for a vacation and/or mindless escapism. I thought this one was better than the first book in the series, but I find it annoying that it's called a series when there's very little connection between the books.

Steampunk alternate Victorian era in a world with dirigibles, nanoagents, mechanical flesh, zombies. I think I still like the first book better. However, this one has a strong lead female character who is an experienced badass captain of an Airship. Yasmeen, captain of Lady Corsair, and Archimedes Fox, adventurer, go out on a journey to search for a treasured sketch from Leonardo da Vinci. There is also revenge but that wasn't too clear to me. Good fighting sequences with zombies, but in the end, I didn't get who/what they were fighting against really.
P.S.: That cover is terrible. Yasmeen should be in it.
