This one made me cry with frustration. I had to set it down a few times and come back. Now, two months after reading it, I've been reflecting on what the Author said about her time in writing this book. How she's never been angrier, but also, she's never been healthier than this time in her life.

3.5 stars — this book was riveting and contained soo much information. Almost too much information.. I’m glad I listened to it as an audiobook because I’m not sure I would have finished it otherwise.

Infuriating and empowering and depressing and exhausting, and entirely worth reading.

This should be required reading. I truly hope women's anger continues and that it compels more people to be on the right side of history.

It is perhaps fitting that a book about women's anger would make me angry. I think that was the point of this. If after reading this book, you aren't also angry, then I would question why you were not. This book was both cathartic and rage inducing, sometimes in the same sentence! Traister has a great voice and an easy going writing style that is very easy to follow and very engaging. My only quibble is that while she talks about intersectionality, she doesn't fully engage with that topic. She does talk about the ways in which white feminism has left out women of color but then she focuses most of her attention on black women. What about Latinx women? What about native women? Asian women? She really doesn't focus any of her attention on these populations of women and that is a real blindspot in her writing and analysis. But I am glad that black women get paid some attention here because they tend to be ignored by mainstream media. This is a galvanizing book, one that I think should be read by anyone who wants to understand this current moment in history that we are living through.
