This is my second Sierra Simone book and I loved it a lot more than Priest ... What bothered me in Priest was that religion and sex were tangled up in a way that didn’t appeal to me. I love forbidden and taboo romances but not the mix in Priest.
What I loved in Sinner is that we still have these questions about faith and belief embodied in the persona of Sean Bell, AKA sinner, who has a hard time believing in God blaming him for his sister‘s suicide and his mother‘s illness ... until he meets Zenny, pure of heart and a believer to the bone, who aspires to become a nun.
Before she dedicates her life to God, she wants to know what she’ll be missing out on, so she convinces Sean -who happens to be her brother’s best friend- to teach her everything about sex ... which he excels at! And of course feelings get in the way and things get complicated.
I loved that Sean, the womanizer, did not deny his feelings for Zenny and was so faithful to her and ready to give her selflessly what she wants. So it’s not the typical playboy who has a hard time admitting that one woman stole his heart ... and I loved him even more for his putting his family first, and taking care of his dying mother.
Zenny is such a sweet and innocent girl who has always had a crush on Sean. She has her own fights, not wanting to be anymore the girl who only pleases her parents ... she wants to be in control of her future.
We see their love being born, starting with a physical attraction (yes very very steamy) but then becoming deeper.
It’s a beautiful erotic story about hate, love, beliefs, doubts, dreams, family ... and passion!

Great spicy scenes. Enjoyed the main characters chemistry. I think the ending would hit harder if she had taken her vows and had the better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all vibe
