Great compendium of information, especially for the lesser known bands. The essays at the beginning and end provided, in the first case, useful context, and in the second, a flavor of the times.
I also found the label and producer bios interesting, and the chronology -- including not just the music but films and political events for each year -- helped round out the picture of what happened when. That section could actually have been a bit longer.
Overall this is a very useful reference work to have on your shelves. The manuscript could have used another set of eyes on it, and someone should have a stern word with whoever decided that a lightweight typewriter don't would work as a basal text, to say nothing of the captions, which, apart from providing scant information, were nearly impossible to read. Which is a pity, because the photo selection was pretty enlightening.
