My first VanderMeer. I enjoyed myself, not much to say beyond that though. The story reminded me of a snowball rolling downhill, starts out comfortable and slow, and steadily picks up speed with so much whipping by you miss some of the details. I got a little lost on some of the specifics at the end but the overall story was satisfying enough. Rating this a bit above average, enjoyable enough but not exceptional.
