This book has some outdated definitions of bisexuality versus pansexuality.
This was SO good. The book contains such a beautiful message and amazing characters. I love CeCe and Josh and Mackenzie and Abe and Gabby and Marty and CeCes Mom. I also really liked the style of writing, I couldn't flip the pages fast enough! A heartwarming story, I hope you decide to read it♡

I really liked this one! The messages of self-exploration and discovery were really prominent in the book and I really enjoyed watching CeCe try to figure herself out. She could be a little annoying at times, but she was also relatable. I also really liked Josh and his family, they are so cute and quirky, I just love how wholesome all the characters are.
One of my favorite things about this book was the way it addresses biphobia. Bisexual/pansexual people have to put up with crap all the time about how they can’t be LGBTQ+ if they’re in a heterosexual relationship. This happens to CeCe throughout the book and I think the author dealt with the issue nicely.
4 Stars.

So as someone who has IDed as bi in the past (which is NOT to say it’s a stepping stone for everyone; I’ve been hesitant to update my labels exactly because of how harmful that stereotype can be), I really, really appreciate how this book tackles biphobia from both outside and inside the lgbt+ community. If I were to change anything in that area, it would be to include some stats. Did you know bi people are the biggest chunk of the alphabet soup, but they’re less likely to be out than the L or G? Depression and suicide rates are also worse for people who ID under the bi+ umbrella, because they’re not accepted in either the queer community or the straight one. Yes, passing is a privilege and luxury, but that doesn’t always keep it from feeling like a curse.
Anyway. As for the rest of the book, I liked the characters. I liked how real it felt for the characters to have had little relationship experience. I liked the use of technology and the focus on how much of your true self to share online.

I really liked it! I feel as if it might be a bit cheesy for my taste, but it was a pleasant change.
Thank you to TBR and Beyond tour for an ARC of this book! This contains spoilers for the book. I hit the button for spoilers but I’m not sure if GoodReads hides it or not. If you don’t want spoilers feel free to come back after reading it.
SPOILERS AHEAD
I’ll start with what I liked: the social media aspect and Cece. I also really liked Cece’s Mom and Josh. Here’s what was problematic: the Harry Potter references (and this is coming from someone who used to be a massive Harry Potter fan until I realized how problematic the author is). Granted, it’s possible the author wrote it before that happened, but the publisher or the editor should have checked it before it went into print. I also didn’t like Sylvie at all or the fact that Cece remains friends with Sylvie in the end after everything Sylvie puts Cece through. I just feel like Cece could do better (in my opinion). If you got the ARC, did you feel the same way?

Honestly picked this up because I thought it would be a cute summer read. It was. But it was also important and informative and had a strong, powerful message. I'm glad YA has this book circulating.
