I got this book for free through a Stuff Your Kindle event, so I was not expecting much…This book totally surprised me. The plot was actually good and the dialogue was not miserable to read through. I really enjoyed it!

This story has various levels for Luke and Rita. First they are employee and employer. Then with that someone sees Luke as being more approachable with Rita around him so from there they make an arrangement to be fake friends or rather to teach Luke what it's like to have a friend. Seeing them get comfortable with each other in the morning, him paying attention to Rita without staring at her is admirable. Yet I feel like the story dragged. Next up they start liking each other. The entire story is in single POV of Rita. Within that they are doing things to practice being a married couple but they know it is fake along with Theo knowing. The sex comes in and there is still more of the story. With the rest of the story I do appreciate Rita working through imposter syndrome and not alone, she has her uncle and friends there too.

I enjoyed this book waaaaay more than I thought I would!
I had high hopes for it, but it completely surpassed my expectations!
I enjoyed the fact that the flow of their relationship was more realistic than a waking up one day and having an attraction towards one another, which is my biggest ick about enemies to lovers tropes.
There were parts of it that seemed a bit over-explained regarding the business but for whatever reason i could still never figure out what it exactly was the MMC did.
Either way, their chemistry was IMMACULATE. The spice? PERFECT. I couldn’t put it down!

Really well written. She’s writes her characters with such depth in character that I felt connected to both characters despite this being a single POV. Love the banter between Luke and Rita as they develop a friendship and relationship beyond boss-employee. The end felt a tad rushed but probably because I felt stifled by the lack of communication on Rita’s part. I wanted to see more effort especially from Rita to reconcile the distance between Luke and her. Felt removed from Luke and his experience when Rita left for India, felt like he was the only one fully invested in bettering their relationship. But overall, this was a solid book and I love to see my POC women loved well.
