I really loved these characters. The story fleshed out both emotionally, and gave an engaging story arc in this Cinderella trope story. The issues faced by the FMC are realistic. The MMC is a billionaire, but the notions of the struggle between a work identity and a home identity, and the origins of extreme wealth are explored, as well.

I chose this book specifically because of the BIPOC author, and characters. As an added plus, the book was not set in Britain, rather it was set in Barcelona.

Few books leave me reluctant to leave the characters. I did not want the story to end. I may just have to read it over again, right away to make sure they get that HEA.

4.25⭐️. Rita Singh is a meal-prep chef for billionaire, Luke Abbott - and let’s just say, they do not get along. Despite being employed by Luke, Rita has no problem telling him all the reasons she despises him and his company. Luke has an upcoming business event, where Rita could really help seal the deal. This is an enemies to friends to fake dating (!) to lovers (?) that you won’t wanna miss!

I absolutely adored this story! The banter between Luke and Rita reminded me of Red, White, & Royal Blue in how they roast-flirted with each other. The side stories were interesting, the build up was believable - just all around great book! If you love enemies to lovers, fake dating, one bed, grumps, and billionaire romance, you don’t wanna miss this!

Thank you Sookh for the advanced readers copy!

I always love a good rom-com so I knew I’d like this book. I was surprised to LOVE it. I couldn’t put it down and lost sleep sneaking in another chapter and then another chapter. It was the perfect mix of predictable and unexpected and so nuanced. The characters were incredibly well developed and complex. My cheeks are aching from grinning so much the past few days. I can’t wait to read more of Kaur’s work. I’d love a follow-up novel with Theo please, checking in on dear Rita and Luke. Brilliant novel!

Not really spicy. It only had one spicy scene but it was a good one. The wording of the book was a little hard to follow. It made my brain work harder than I usually want with books. It was okay though. I really like how she described herself as actually fat and not just curvy.

I love a plus-size FMC, but I hate it when the writing just seems like the character is rambling off. I read it as if it was a race.
I don't think it's a book I was in the mood to reading.
WIll try again later, when I can tolerate the writing.
