Didn’t capture my attention. Plot is slow

I’ve reread Hunger Games recently so I wanted something similar without being the same book and this was…. It? I fully expected it to be the same but I was pleasantly surprised to find that it was different enough to be fresh and exciting but the stakes are similar… only on a global scale rather that just within Panam. And instead of Snow, it was/is Aliens that put the games in place and is forcing the world to play. It’s a fun read that has some surprising depth to it. Would def recommend.

i enjoyed reading this book

Rating: 3.5 stars

I know that this book is a bit similar to The Hunger Games trilogy, but so what?! This book does not deserve ANY hate, and neither does the author!

I really enjoyed this book, and don't kill me, but I enjoyed reading this more than I did with THG.
Besides the fact that I needed quite long to finish this book..

First of all:
Every time I picked this book up, I had needed time to get into it. That's the main reason to why I took so long to finish. But also, when I did get into the book, I loved it!

And furthermore:
I feel really stupid to admit this but all the names quite confused me from the beginning to, I don't know, the half of it maybe?

But I quite enjoyed this book and I'm looking forward to the sequel!

I went into Endgame: The Calling excited about the general concept of the book. However, that excitement didn’t last long, only about fifty pages or so. Going into it from the start, I quickly realized that the writing style felt very passive and not personable in the slightest. It almost felt robotic. To me, this took away from the experience of the book, which was a main point of why (to me) the book fell short. Due to this writing, I felt like I never got to know the characters very well, even though it was a longer book.
