endgame the calling follows thirteen different characters. Endgame is set in a world where the things that made us told the first humans to have all 12 lines always have a player ready for endgame. The calling takes place when endgame begins and follows all 12 players of endgame who are fighting to save their lines from the end. The 13th character I will not say who because that would be a spoiler gets dragged into endgame early on.
I thought this book was different then anything then I have ever read and it was really refreshing. For having SO many characters all of them are different. There are some that were a little scary to me well a LOT scary to me but thats what made the book so interesting is we aren't just reading about the heroes who want to save humanity but about the people who just want to save themselves. I would say that if you are looking for something new a different give this a go I doubt you'll be sorry.

Polecam!
3.5/5
*This might be a little spoilery but not really?? I swear I won't say anything concrete, but still, read with caution*
So this wasn't as terrible as I was expecting. It was actually quite enjoyable, it kept me interested and I definitely could not stop reading from the middle of the book onwards. However, I had some problems with it.
First of all, although the idea for this story is very good, I feel like it wasn't well developed. This book was extremely marketed, and the main focus was exactly the marketing aspect of it, the puzzle readers can solve, the prize they can win. I just wanted to read a good story, so that was a little annoying. Secondly, why must there always be a love triangle? It was solved at the end of the book, praise the lord, but still, why? And what was that romantic subplot???? I swear I've read it somewhere else, like, I don't know, The Hunger Games, maybe. I might be exaggerating slightly, but I did get the whole Peeta/Katniss "starcrossed lovers" feel while the relationship between the two "main characters" in Endgame developed. And finally, the characters. There were so many POVs, and they were usually so rushed, that I didn't get a chance to actually know any of the characters, try to connect to them, feel for them, empathize with them. So when a character died, I was just "meh".
Overall this was a pretty decent book. It did leave me wanting to read the sequel, which I will try to do soon and hopefully that one will develop the story and the characters a whole lot more. Hopefully.

I'm actually amazed by how much I enjoyed this book. I picked it up on a whim during a Black Friday sale online, because it was on sale and the synopsis sounded interesting. But then I got it, and I put it on my shelf, and then it sat. And sat. Until the other day when I went looking for a book to fill a prompt for a reading challenge (read the brightest book on your TBR), and it sat on my desk for a few days until I finally just picked it up thinking I would try a chapter and see how I felt about it. Three hours later, I was 130 pages in and absolutely hooked. And the footnotes the author added, leading to websites to enhance your reading experience are ingenious.
It has a bit of a Hunger Games vibe; 12 players in a deadly competition, but not a dystopian world and not limited to a certain area. This is a world-wide hunt for three Keys, and the first to find them all wins. But these players have been training for years for this competition.
-Here ends the original draft of this review. Anything beyond this point is my thoughts and feelings after having finished the book. -
I had to change my rating. I was originally giving this book 4 stars, but in the end I think it is only worth three, and the saving grace of that third star is just how well written this massive conspiracy theory is. I can appreciate how much time and effort was put into writing this book, the story itself could be fantastic, but I can't get past how many youtube links there were to conspiracy theory videos about how aliens built Stonehenge, or lights in the sky. I gave up on the links after a while. The story was engaging, and I was invested in Sarah and Jago, but the way that Christopher was written just... why. I'm still on the fence about finishing the series, even though I already own most of it.

Aika heikot on vihjeet. Mikään Nälkäpeli ei tämä tosiaankan ollut.
Kirjoitustyylistä en aluksi pitänyt yhtään mutta loppua kohden totuin siihen. Hahmoista Sarah ja Jago nousivat selvästi suosikeikseni.

DNF- not because the book was bad, but because I bought my copy on Amazon and it came damaged. Many pages were missing. With time, I just lost the interest and now I don’t want to read it anymore.
