this is easily the worst book I have ever attempted to read. Hunger Games aping aside: the prose is genuinely horrific, the characters are bizarrely overpowered and boring, and the plot goes nowhere.
I’d give it a 0/5 if I could, but this thing needs more bloody bad ratings.

it was really interesting. a lot of unexpected... turns of events? overall many interesting characters and a great setup for the next two books! :)

This is my favorite book of the serie because in this book things don't get too complicated and convoluted. 12 players and one winner possible. The game was simple and the alliances between the characters were well chosen.
So much unnecessary and unjustified violence. The world is ending... so all morals go out the window??? And of course the American girl wins. So predictable. Also complete with a love triangle
Slow at times but an interesting cast of characters. We still really don’t know what the game is or how to win. Yes they gave us the simple answer but I think it’s much more complicated than kill everyone and win.
