I believe that many people hate James Frey because of the conspiracy that surrounded his first book 'A million little pieces', and I'm one of the few who would defend him as a writer and defend his four novels. I've loved all four of them, and I regard Frey as one of my favorite authors.
However, this whole thing he's got going with Full Fathom Five is bullshit. Books are being published with his name as co-author simply for marketing. If you've read his books, you can instantly tell that Frey played no part in writing either 'I am number Four' or 'Endgame'. It's obvious that Frey has found a way to make a lot of money without having to do anything. He's scamming people.
The easiest way to describe Endgame is to call it an imitation of Hunger Games. It's not quite the same, seeing as how the players have to solve clues to win while killing each other along the way. Moving on from that, the characters are weak and at times nonexistent, the story is extremely vague, and there is no plot. Furthermore, I am peeved by the fact that there are 12 distinct characters yet the author chooses to focus on the American female who has had the perfect life (Good looks, money, high school valedictorian, and an equally attractive and wealthy boyfriend... who, I might add, believes he can save her and help her win). I'm also troubled by the fact that she breaks up with her longtime boyfriend whom she supposedly loves, and ends up making out with a stranger a few days later. I am sick and tired of seeing books and movies portraying an American as an all-powerful hero.
I will no longer read anything published by Full Fathom Five, and I will be tentative of any future books written by Frey.

Finally, I was able to finish this huge book! It wasn't because it wasn't good, but it was because of the lack of time I have reading this January. Which sucked so bad. I am upset that I couldn't even sit on a book for an hour, or even 30 minutes.
Anyways.
In a lot of ways, this book was good. Great even. But why only 3 stars?
1. I hate stupid love triangles. The end of the world is coming and you get to think about boys? Or girls? I just don't get why it has to be there.
2. It dragged too long on some parts while cutting off on some.
3. Too many damn characters.
Inspite of a the annoying stuff in this book, I still felt it was good for the most part, most especially the interactivity that the readers experience while reading the book. It was phenomenal. I wish more books were like this.
A lot of people compare it to the hunger games, let me assure you that this book is nothing like the hunger games. There would be similarities, but not as much as people fear it would be. It's not even a big big similarity, just numbers. To be honest, this is not even a dystopian book. It is what is going on before, the world becomes a dystopian book. And this book thoroughly explains how and what is happening. It doesn't let the readers guess what the fuck happened with the world. It lets you in on the secret bit by bit. The world building was just great. I loved it. It was brutal. Lots of the encounters the players had with each other were freakin' brutal. This book is more for older readers I think.
This book is definitely not for everyone. Especially how this book is told, would piss off a lot of the readers. There are a lot of POVs on the third person which could cause confusion at times, but I was good with it. I felt it was necessary.
Soooo. That's all for now. I wish I get my laptop back soon so I could write a more detailed review.

This book was just not what I wanted out of it. The writing was mediocre, nothing special, and the style was just odd. The characters did not have depth, and while the plot had potential, it was not executed well. Overall the most I can give the book is 2 stars. Sorry for such a short review
I absolutely loved this book. Its so different from other Y.A and/or dystopian novels. Its an amazing read with plot twists and humour and kick-ass action scenes. I don't understand why so many people are comparing it to other dystopian novels because it is so unbelievably different from all the other books mentioned in some of the comments. I really truly loved this book and would recommend it to all age groups.
