If you love thrillers and you’re not reading Charlie Donlea, what are you doing?! Get out there and order his books, stat. Start with my personal fave, TWENTY YEARS LATER, or go ahead and grab this one - his newest - but clear your schedule because you’ll read it in one sitting. 

This was spectacular, as I knew it would be. Donlea is a master of building a mystery, small detail by small detail, until the puzzle pieces snap loudly together at the end. And every time, whether I think I know the ending or a piece of it or not, I’m totally shocked. He’s an expert at creating layered thrillers that - like this title suggests - keep you guessing until the bitter end. 

This one gave me actual nightmares - I started it last night before I went to bed (my fault 😂) and had dreams of creepy serial killers. Do better than me; read it in the daylight. 

Detailed, well-written, propulsive. Unputdownable. My heart was racing, my hands were over my eyes, I was sick to my stomach. And that ending! Whoa. 

Another fantastic five star read from Charlie Donlea!

Another hit by Charlie Donlea. I’ve been anxiously waiting for this new release and it did not disappoint. Completely intrigued the entire way through and i possibly see a set up for more with these characters??? 🤞🏼

It’s the 10th anniversary of high school volleyball star Callie Jones’s disappearance. Her body was never found, and the case went cold—until Ethan Hall, a former detective turned ER doctor, is pulled back in by his dying ex-partner to crack the case once and for all. What follows is a tense, twist-filled ride through old evidence, simmering town secrets, and more than a few psychological games.

I devoured this one. The blend of dual timelines and short, punchy chapters kept me flying through the pages. Ethan is a reluctant hero, and watching him slowly get pulled back into the case while wrestling with his own demons made for a gripping read. I just had to know what happened next.

I saw a couple of twists coming, but the big one at the end? Total gut punch—for both me and Ethan. It definitely left an impact.

If you love cold-case thrillers packed with secrets, smart pacing, and layered tension, Guess Again is absolutely worth a read.

Shocking twist at the end. I didn't enjoy the constantly shifting narrator though; it got pretty confusing. As soon as I felt pulled to the current narrator or timeline, it would change and jar me out of the story.
