I liked some of the chapters a lot, and it seems like a really fun writing exercise to do with a group of people. However, I feel as though there was not enough of an attempt at a cohesive story as there could of been. And it really made me struggle to connect with and enjoy the story as a whole.

An interesting experiment, in which some of the contributors shone more than others. The ones who are exceptional at evocative prose stood out a lot from the rest (Khaw and Tremblay in particular). While enjoyable, I think it would have been better if spread out over a week rather than having all the stories come out (and be written, as far as I could tell) on the same day. One of the latter ones suffered from some easily caught typos.

As for the story, it was fairly "meh" for me. Again, more time spent thinking about how things should come together would have helped. The idea of the experiment was to not do that, but, in the end, it suffered for it. The beginning was strong. The ending two were strong. The ones in the middle varied a lot.

I found the premise really interesting but not so much the execution:(

Really cool in theory. There were some unfortunate discrepancies in writing style (Tremblay wrote his episode in second person and whoever wrote episode 9 wrote in a weird collective first person) and then the person who wrote episode 8 went really... Out there in terms of totally changing the direction of the story, leaving 9 (who copped out to become a ring-master explaining the rules) and 10 to bring things back into the realm of possibility. I have to give 10 props for wrangling that mess back to the tone that Khaw and Tremblay set early on.

The episodes are a little too short to really allow the various writers to draw you in and I think that worked against many of them.
