I received this book as part of a “Blind date with a book” situation and wasn’t sure what to make of it. Boy am I glad I stuck with it because what an emotional rollercoaster I went on reading this book.
Mackenzie Cabot comes from an incredibly wealthy family and pretty much has her entire life planned out for her already, her own desires be damned. Go to school (just to say you got a degree), marry the “successful” rich guy, and grow up to be a complacent housewife. It isn’t until she meets Cooper, a local “townie,” that she realizes how wrong she really was.
Cooper and Mackenzie learn to bring out the best in each other, whether that’s her giving him hope of a brighter tomorrow, or him showing her she actually has agency over her own destiny. Through trials and tribulations they do what they can to stay by each other’s sides, come hell or high water.
A read that’s both emotional and lighthearted, this book will have you burning the midnight oil for just *one more* chapter.

Decent male lead. Insufferable female lead. Fun and light-hearted plot. And of course, COMPLETELY UNBELIEVABLE. At least there were two voice actors to distinguish each of the leads. Trust the 3.4 average rating on this one.
